Body piercings and tattoos can be fun and exciting to get, but when it comes to getting a tattoo or piercing you should be extremely picky. Unless you have a few modifications and have a good shop that you are comfortable with then you don’t have to worry. For those who are new to the piercing and tattoo world should be very particular where they get work done. First things first you need to make sure that your piercer is certified, there are a lot of people out there that will be willing to put a few holes in your body but aren’t certified and if the piercing is done wrong it can cause major complications. The shop should also have some sort of liability insurances as well. Even though your piercer is certified check their homework, see what piercings they have done in the past. Not all piercers are comfortable doing all types of piercings. You may find some piercers that do not specialize in dermal piercings and other types of piercings. You should also keep an eye out for cleanliness and the hygiene of the piercer and the shop. If the shop isn’t clean there is a high risk of infections and even hepatitis. When are are going to get pierced, make sure you witness the piercer take out all new materials, needles, tools and jewelry. If you do not feel comfortable you always have the right to get up and walk out of the shop, remember that your body is more important.
