A Mid-Winter Night’s Dream : Winter Body Jewelry To Warm You Up
Cold Weather Body Jewelry Recos
We know that the winter has a cuddling and cozy effect on most of us. Not exactly the best time of year to sport body jewelry? We think not! Much like some of the best fashion, some of the best body jewelry was made for cold weather styling. We’ll visit some of the hottest winter trends as the temperature continues to drop in most part of the country.
Before we rave about the importance of safe piercings, we want to invite you all personally to join us this January in Pompano Beach for the Grand Opening of Crack Tattoos as we host the first BodyJewelry.com Piercing event of the year. Follow us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter for the latest updates on our piercing events. Also, don’t forget we do piercing trivia giveaway every Wednesdays (tonight!!) on Instagram and our huge Guess, Share, Win contest is held once a month on our Facebook page. Now let’s get cozy up to this winter’s must have body jewelry.
It’s a Hella Cold Winter
Yes, it’s dropping below zero in some parts of the country with winter storms blazing and dropping snow in most of the country and around the globe, at least in the Northern hemisphere. But this does not mean we need to bust out the reindeer fuzz sweaters and be barren on piercing style while sipping on hot cocoa. We’re making the most of the Eskimo weather with body jewelry that was designed for a mid-winter night’s dream.
Feathers, Poofs & Puffs
Feathers have been big in jewelry since….well, basically since humans and birds have co-existed on this planet. Something about feathers are delicate, exotic and “high priestess-y”. We love body jewelry with feather for cold weather. Something about them just warm you up just by having one on. Top picks of feathered jewelry include belly rings and earrings
Poofs and Puffs are also another AMAZING winter body jewelry look. Aside from all the keychain puff accessories that we’ve seen on bags and purses on the runways, we’ve been seeing these fuzzy balls of winter love on body jewelry as well. Belly/Navel rings in particular hold the poofs and puffs delicately enough to peek past your shirt hem or pajamas… you pick. Hugs and warm fuzzy feelings of love not included, but guaranteed to self generate upon touch.
Icing on the Cake
“Frost Yourselves”…remember that phrase by Matthew McConaughey from the movie “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days” ? Well we remember it too and can totally understand why diamonds hit such high demand during the winter months. Maybe it’s the likeness of a snowflake in the snow we experience in the winters that make us want to “frost” ourselves…
Diamonds have long been the epitome of a precious stone. It has been studies, graded and examined and for a good reason. It’s hard to believe that this perfect gem is a natural element created by years of pressure and natural processes. Body jewelry containing diamonds hit the high notes during this season as well, mainly on earrings, navel rings, septum rings and ear/cartilage jewelry.
The deep red hue of Ruby is something that reeks of winter love. Unlike pink or orange undertone reds, ruby red has a slightly blue undertone and is rich in color. We love ruby reds (real or faux) in the winter months because of how well they go with just about everything in the winter wardrobe. They add just enough mystery and class to any body jewelry.
Try navel rings, lip rings, dermal anchor tops, nipple rings in this hue for an instant glam, as well as adding a splash of the color of love to your multiple ear piercing look.
Deep Ocean Blue Sapphire
This beautiful, beautiful stone often get lost in a sea of other colored gems, but this deep blue gem is something else, because it goes with EVERY skin tone without a sweat. It understated yet rich, slightly eerie yet soothing to look at, the sapphire is a most certainly old man winter’s best friend. Deep hues, much like ruby reds, have an instant glam effect when paired with winter’s heavier, more textured fabrics.
Sport this saturated blue wonder on nipple rings, belly rings, labret, nose rings and lip jewelry as well as on the cheek piercing for an instant wake me up to below zero glam.
Green with Emerald Envy
What can we say about soothing glow of a crystal clear emerald stone? We get green with envy whenever we see a new piece of jewelry emerge with any range in tone of this lovely green. Other than being the most easily accepted and visible to the human eye as a symbol of peace, harmony and nature, this organic green stone is incredibly versatile. It can go beautifully as an accent piece to the LBD or with an over the top winter party gown…it’s just one of those colors that surprise the eyes with delight when detected, but refuses to take away attention from the center piece : you.
Emerald green earrings, dermal anchors, belly rings, tongue rings and cartilage jewelry are a winner for the winter, just don’t mix with the ruby reds, unless a Christmas tree is the look you are going for.
