Ready, Set, Click  : All About Septum Clickers

Although septum piercings have been around for centuries, they have made the headline quite often in the recent years, thanks to the new, much more feminine body jewelry for septum piercings that have emerged on the market.

With each passing year, we are seeing more delicate, detailed and fine gauge septum piercing jewelry that make them that much more wearable and desired. Hangers, Clickers, and non-piercing clip ons have made septum piercings the new “it” piercing, scouring pages of fashion magazines, movie premiers and more. But did you know that you don’t necessarily need a septum piercing to rock septum jewelry? Yep, that’s right…these little delicate designs are quite versatile and can compliment many of your other piercing ventures.

Don’t Be Basic

With all of the options that the body jewelry shops have to offer, there is definitely no reason at all to fall into the “basic” category. If you’re used to a plain curved horseshoe barbells in good ol’ 316L surgical steel, this is the time to try something new. Hangers and Clickers are the new type of septum piercing jewelry that is making all the buzz. With infinite designs, gems, jewels, accents, metals and more, it’s a all-star wonder to keep you from being basic in any way.
The delicate new body jewelry that is available is finer gauged and completely “pair-able” with other facial piercings. For tips, ideas and inspiration on how to combine multiple piercings and body jewelry, check out our blog Combination Therapy

Click, Click

We said it twice for those very special piercings we love so much that come in pairs : nipple piercings! Whether you are a gent or vixen, these paired or solo piercings can benefit beautifully  from septum jewelry.
Pairing the nips with septum clickers is wonderful way to really expand the look and feel of the piercing itself. Try gemmed septum clickers instead of nipple barbells for a sparkling surprise. Try a lace tribal design clicker on your nipples for quick way to really give depth and feel to this piercing. There is absolutely no reason why nipple piercings should be limited to traditional barbells, horseshoe circulars or captive bead rings. Jeweled Septum rings are stunning as well for nipple piercings; they lack the hinge that clickers have but are equally fitting for nipple piercings.

Cartilage Crafting

The ears can often go underappreciated, however in the case of septum clickers, this is the perfect zone to flex those piercing trends. Replacing a plain ring with a jewel lined septum clicker will instantly brighten up a orbital, helix, forward helix or even your plain lobe and upper lobe piercings. Septum clickers that are available in finer gauges are perfect for even those tiny little crevices, such the snug piercing, rook, daith, tragus and antitragus.

Another super cool location to try clicker is the transverse lobe. This piercing is done along the lower edge of ear lobe. Depending on the depth of the piercing through the earlobe, you may be able to slide a beautiful septum ring or hanger to fit this space. This turn the transverse lobe piercing into a brand new style of piercing just by switching it up.

Get Creative

The moral of the story here is that septum clickers are not just for septum piercings. And that goes for most body jewelry. Although each body jewelry may have a name designated for the piercing type it was intended for, be sure to venture on the wild side here and there by trying them out on other piercings. One warning, be sure your piercing has fully healed before you switch jewelry. If you are fully healed but not yet comfortable switching around jewelry, take a peek at our article “Your Guide to Switching Body Jewelry Like a Pro” for industry tips and tricks.
