Industry Insider with Bobby Deerfield of Crack Tattoos, Pompano Beach, Florida
Let’s get gritty with Bobby Deerfield… then join us this Sunday at our co-hosted event to get up close and personal with us… Here are a few things we learned out Bobby and his business during our interview. Live a little, “Get That Tattoo!”
What is your name and what is the name of the shop/business you are with?
Bobby Deerfield/ CrackTattoos
Where is your shop located?
1661 E Sample Rd Pompano Beach FL 33064
What is your professional title/role there?
Owner/Tattoo Artist/ Piercer
How long have you been doing what your craft?
What made you get into this? Was this a lifelong dream or something you stumbled into?
Coworkers of mine when I worked at a T-Mobile call center seen my drawings and offered to be Practice Dummies if I purchased the equipment. Did my first tattoo on a Friday night, and Monday when we all returned to work and everyone seen the tattoo I did I had a full schedule by the weekend, and I never turned back.
Over the years, are there any jobs/projects that you have come to absolutely adore?
I wasn’t originally planning on doing realism as I used to love drawing cartoons, but as the years passed I loved black and grey realism until the day I got the opportunity to do animal color realism and color became something I began to love. Nowadays I can handle any project but I love it when someone says, “You’re the artist, I trust you” and then I just do my thing.
What about your least favorite? Is there something you have come to dislike? Why? (Ex, doesn’t heal well)
I am not a huge fan of old school tribal, its boring and I feel like id rather be doing something more creative.
What body modifications do you have on yourself, if any?
I have a dermal near my left eye and over 30 tattoos.
Which one is your favorite and why?
All my tattoos have meaning but are linked to people, so I love all my tattoos, even the ones some say are typically regrettable.
Who is your most outrageous client? (You don’t have to share the name of the person unless it is someone you are proud to be the artists to)
My favorite client is a close friend of mine named Stephanie. She has a tattoo on her that was chosen with my late mother in mind. Shes the real MVP, and someone I love very much.
What advice would you give someone getting their first tattoo or piercing?
Life is too short, get the tattoo!
Is there anything else remarkable about your career, shop or craft that you would like us to highlight?
I thank God for everything I have, when I tattoo I directly feel his hands guiding mine. I wouldn’t have my shop, my talent, or this opportunity without him.
Thank, Bobby for sharing your story with us. We can’t wait to join you and your team this Sunday, and we hope to see you all there in person! We’ll be taking videos for our media and blogs as well as giving away goodies! See ya there #piercingaddicts!
